"Concentrate on what you do best, let me take care of the rest."
Web content writing
I work with clients on both B2C and B2B websites, getting to know their product or service, market, audience and objectives. By concentrating on the consumer's perspective and what their motivating factors are I can present your business in a more compelling light. It's very easy to get wrapped up in your product or service and sometimes you need a fresh pair of eyes to look at things from a different perspective.
Once I understand your target audience, your website page plan, how much content you require and what your website needs to achieve, I'll go away and write it for you. Once approved I'll supply the content directly to your web designer. Alternatively I work with a great team of web designers I'm very happy to recommend.
I recently improved content for a client's website so significantly they went from 300 hits a month to 300 hits per week.
Web content management
I'm used to writing and uploading content to client's existing websites, whether that's via Joomla or Wordpress content management systems.
Blogs are a great way to engage with your target audience on a regular basis. Updating them on; relevant insider stories, case studies, industry news, positioning yourself as the expert in your field. These are obviously a great excuse to connect with your audience via social media and spread the word! Simply give me the story, I'll do the research, carry out any telephone or face to face interviews, source photography, then write and upload informal and relaxed blog posts.
Whether they're printed or online, newsletters are a tool often used to promote good feeling within a team. As the face of the business, newsletters are a useful platform from which to communicate certain key messages, industry news, policy updates in an often relaxed, magazine style, non-confrontational format.
I recently put together a quarterly staff newsletter for a local care home, which was so well received by the residents I had to incorporate stories about them in future issues, thus increasing the print run.
If you think you might have a good news story to tell then just let me know, I'll do my research, ask questions and write the article in a newsworthy style and distribute to relevant press contacts on and offline accordingly. I've had articles published in a wide range of local and industry press, from the Financial Times to the Lymington Times.
Building online brand presence
I'm used to working with brands that need their presence developed. Your identity is the key to you being recognised. Make sure every communication from your business follows a similar style, so consumers immediately recognise you from your "communications arsenal."
If you don't already have one, I can work with you to write your future marketing plan. Having worked with a range of clients and lectured at Winchester University in the "Art of writing & presenting a Marketing Plan" I'm well versed in the elements which need to be included and how to produce a working plan which actually allows you to deliver on your objectives and analyse and measure those results on an ongoing basis.
Organising Marketing Activity
I have spent over 20 years helping clients coordinate their marketing activity. Planning what needs to be done, pulling together the individuals required to make "stuff happen", negotiating and communicating in an effective and professional manner so everyone feels part of the team. I'm very comfortable working to a brief, deadline and budget.
Ultimately it's not over 'til the fat lady sings, as they say! There's no point putting all your efforts into planning your marketing initiatives if you have no idea what you hoped they'd achieve and whether they have actually delivered on that or not. Remember to build in a measurable facility into all marketing initiatives and then track and analyse so that future planning gets better and better. Who knows, you may even get so well informed at what works that you'll end up spending less!
